inverse multiplexing over ATM (IMA)

Inverse Multiplexing over ATM (IMA), specified by the ATM Forum, splits the ATM data stream over multiple narrowband transmission lines. Instead of a new optical fiber, the ATM links are switched to several parallel 2 Mbit/s copper lines, E1 lines, to provide the bandwidth.
