interference cancellation (DSL) (IFC)

Interference cancellation (IFC) is a technique for reducing crosstalk.

The IFC technique is used in DSL processes to improve the interference voltage distance and leads to an increase in the data rate. In the IFC technique, the disturbed signal of a copper twisted pair is analyzed and the crosstalk is filtered out.

Algorithms are used to calculate compensation signals from the filtered signal, which are used to compensate for the disturbed signal. The compensation signal is superimposed on the disturbed signal in real time. The real-time compensation method is also used in vectoring.
