intelligent network application protocol (INAP)

Intelligent NetworkApplicationProtocol (INAP) is a standardized protocol for intelligent networks

(IN). Service providers can offer their own services via the INAP protocol, via which the ServiceControl Point (SCP) and the Service Switching Point (SSP) communicate with each other. The INAP protocol is based on SS7 signaling and the Signaling Connection Control Parts (SCCP) used INAP messages for routing. INAP messages are written in the abstract syntax ASN.1.
