integrated voice/data terminal (IVDT)

Inconjunction with the digitization of voice transmission under ISDN, several manufacturers developed multifunctional voice/ data terminals characterized by having a terminal keypad, a display, a telephone dialer, and a voice facility. These were called integrated voice/data terminals (IVDTs). They are usually developed for a manufacturer-specific PABX, but can also be PABX-independent.
