inline frame

An inline frame (IFrame) is a standalone web page that can be inserted into other web pages. Such an IFrame can contain text, graphics, photos or videos and can be used for online advertising.

An inline frame is designed to always appear together with the called web page. In the source code of the web page, the IFrame is displayed with a tag, not content. The size of the inline frame, which has its own outer border, is fixed and can only be scaled using the CSS properties, Cascading Style Sheet. IFrames can be used to insert third-party content into a web page, such as Google Ads. Also, IFrames are used for spamming and cloaking.

In addition to the spelling IFrame, there is also the term I-Frame, which stands for Information Frame or Intra-Frame.
