The Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) is sometimes also called Personal HomePage. It is an extension forInternet servers that can be used to quickly create dynamic websites for the Internet. PHP is a scripting language that is available as open source, embedded in Hypertext Markup Language( HTML) and supports SQL databases.

Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) helps web developers create websites. It is already available in several versions and the current version offers possibilities for object-oriented programming. As an open source software PHP is constantly extended by current functionalities, which ensures that PHP can handle all current Internet developments. For example, libraries exist with which graphics and photos can be dynamically displayed on web pages.

Hypertext Preprocessor has its own command syntax, whose scripts are entered into the HTML text of the web page. Before the web page is displayed with the PHP commands, the commands are processed by a special processor.

PHP is a quasi- standard on Linux servers for creating interactive web pages.
