hybrid database

A hybrid database is a combination of an on-disk database, which uses hard disks, and an in-memory database( IMDB), which stores its data in RAM.

By combining two techniques, hybrid databases can be used for high-speed applications and as mass storage. They are more flexible and functional because they combine the advantages of RAM technology with disk technology. IMDB technology stands for speed, while disk technology stands for inexpensive mass storage.
