hot plate
The hot-plate process is one of several processes for the fabrication and surface treatment of polymer fibers. Others are based on polishing the broken face or cutting , the press-cut process, the polymer fiber. Hote plate is a thermal process in which the face of the polymer fiber is smoothed with heat.
During assembly, the sheathing of the polymer fiber is removed in a short area. During connector assembly, the polymer fiber is pushed through the ferrule until a few centimeters of polymer fiber protrude from the ferrule. The polymer fiber is then cut so that it has an overhang, and the surface is pressed against a hot mirror. After cooling, the POF connector is assembled.
