homekit

Homekit is an interface from Apple for the smart home for networking and automating home devices. Homekit works with the "HomeKit Accessory Protocol" to network household appliances and to network the sensors on doors and windows of alarm systems.

Devices equipped for this purpose can be networked with the Homekit protocol via an Apple TV and, since iOS 9, also via iCloud. The protocol thus enables remote control while on the move and the sending and receiving of messages about the status of a device or certain events. With an " event trigger", Homekit triggers corresponding actions at certain events or times, e.g. turning up the heating or turning on the lights when it gets dark. Control is also possible with Apple's Siri voice technology.

Thanks to end-to-end encryption( E2EE) between an iOS-enabled end device and a Homekit-enabled device, Apple claims that it cannot view the communication. Besides Apple, other manufacturers also offer products that support Homekit and voice control with Siri.
