Hits are targeted calls to data, files, or records. The term is often used in connection with the calls of web pages and in online advertising, but it can also refer to the call of data stored in the cache.
InInternet terminology, a hit is a call to a single element of an HTML page. Each file of the website, i.e. all text files, graphics, video and audio files, which are retrieved from the web server by the web browser, represents a hit. The number of hits per web page varies and therefore does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about page impressions or visits.
For advertising statements, the Hits figure is not relevant because it depends on the number of different elements.
