high sierra format (HSF)
The High-Sierra Format (HSF) is the standard of the logical format of a CD-ROM. This file format is intended to compensate for the relatively slow access time ofCD drives compared to other drives, and at the same time specifies the compatibility of CD-ROM and CD-I. In addition, the High-Sierra format ensures easy handling of the CD-ROM in conjunction with common operating systems. The High-Sierra file format has since been merged into ISO 9660.
