HD light means high definition light. HD light are powerful light sources that have many times higher brightness compared to other light sources and belong to SSL light sources, solid-state light sources.

Solid-state light sources consist of LED arrays or LED matrices with many thousands of micro LEDs. There are already LED matrices with 30,000 micro-LEDs. The individual LED pixels of such an LED matrix are arranged in columns and rows and can be individually controlled. This is used in LED headlights of motor vehicles to generate an optimal illumination lobe for road illumination. The resolution of such road illumination is tens of times higher than that of classic adaptive lighting systems and thus also contributes to greater road safety.
