government open systems interconnection procurement Specification (GOSIP U.S.)

In 1988, a"Federal Information Processing Standard" came into force for the US government agencies, which is to introduce a uniform OSI protocol architecture, called Government OSI Profile ( GOSIP), as a co- standard for procurement measures. The scope of this regulation also includes the US Department of Defense DoD. The GOSIP-US architecture is almost identical to the TOP specifications. In the meantime, an extended version GOSIP, version 2, is available.
