get nearest server (GNS)

Get Nearest Server (GNS) is an Internetwork Packet ExchangeProtocol (IPX) data packet sent as a request from a client to locate the next active server for a particular task. The IPX client requests a response from a connected server or router that tells it where the next service is located. GNS is part of IPX SAP (Service Access Point).
