generic cell rate algorithm (ATM) (GCRA)

Generic Cell Rate Algorithm (GCRA) is an algorithm developed by the ATM Forum for the traffic profile in ATM.

The GCRA algorithm uses the defined traffic parameters of virtual channels( VC) to smooth out strong deviations in cell traffic and to keep the defined traffic limits. For each ATM cell that arrives, the GRCA algorithm determines whether it is compliant with the traffic agreements.
