General Public Licenses (GPL) are general rights of use granted to any interested party, this applies in particular to the use of source code.

The GPL license is the most important open source with strong copyleft. Companies have an economic interest in the GPL rights, since they themselves distribute software under GPL or use it themselves. Since the GPL is relevant worldwide, the guidelines regarding liability and warranty disclaimers must take into account the rights and their interpretation from all countries.
