general logic unit expansion (logic) (GLUE)
General Logic Unit Expansion (GLUE) is a matching and control logic used in digital circuits, converters and A/D converters.
With a GLUE logic, the digital signals of incompatible function blocks can be matched to each other. Likewise, a GLUE logic can also take over the sequence control of function blocks or act as an interface component between processors and peripheral devices. In addition, GLUE components supply the status of the function blocks to the processor interface.
