fuzzy search
The fuzzy search is a fuzzy or error-tolerant search. In contrast to an exact search, fuzzy search displays results even if the search word was entered incorrectly or if the exact spelling of the search word is not known.
If the search word is entered incorrectly, the search algorithm looks for similarities in spelling or phonetics. In the search results, the fuzzy search is indicated by hints such as "Did you mean...?" or similar.
This means that phonetically similar sounding words are listed as search results. The algorithm used can work by shifting or exchanging letters and by storing synonyms. In this case, the similarity of the entered search word with the synonyms ischecked.
As an example, the word pentium is found correctly even if päntium or päntum are entered.
