full duplex Gigabit Ethernet
Full-duplex Gigabit Ethernet is a full-duplex variant for Gigabit Ethernet.
As with full-duplex Ethernet, the gigabit version establishes a point-to-point connection via two separate pairs of conductors that require neither a CSMA nor collision detection. The advantage of full-duplex methods is on the one hand the doubling of speed, since the full transmission speed of 1 Gbit/s is available for both sending and receiving, and on the other hand the elimination of runtime problems.
