Analogous to full-duplex Ethernet and full-duplex token ring, full-duplex FDDI was also offered by some manufacturers at the beginning of the 1990s. The resulting theoretical bandwidth was 200 Mbit/s. Full-duplex FDDI was usually used in combination with LAN switching, whereby a full-duplex switch port forms a tokenless single-station ring with the connected station.
