front panel data port (FPDP)

Serial FPDP (Front Panel Data Port) is a technology that features high data throughput of 105 MB/s and low latency.

This allows FPDP technology to be used in high- performance data processing and storage with mass data transfer. It has been standardized by the VITA Standards Organization(VSO).

The dedicated point-to-point or broadcast connections can be implemented over copper cable and fiber. With an extension, distances of up to 10 km can be bridged with simplex connections.
