free software foundation (FSF)

The Free Software Foundation (FSF) is a foundation established in 1983. At that time, the GNU project, GNU is not Unix (GNU), was launched.

In this project, the software could be freely exchanged, copied and modified. With these specifications, a complete operating system, namely the Unix-like GNU, could be freely developed and shared among users.

GNU can be purchased from the Free Software Foundation for a fee and used free of charge by the purchaser. Changes and improvements can be made to the source code. It can be passed on to other users.
