frame erasure rate (FER)

Frame Erasure Rate (FER) is a parameter of mobile networks and IP-based packet transmission that represents the ratio of erased frames to the total number of frames sent. It is similar but not equal to the Frame Error Rate (FER) parameter. This is due to the fact that not all erroneous frames are detected and therefore not deleted.
