There are three charging profiles for wireless charging using the Qi standard: Baseline Power Profile (BPP), Extended Power Profile (EPP) and Foreign Object
Detection (FOD), which uses BPP as its baseline method. The FOD profile is designed to detect foreign objects that could damage the primary and secondary coils of the charge ion. These can be pieces of metal that cause damage by eddy currents or draw too much charging power. The FOD profile is intended to detect such foreign objects that reduce the charging power or impair the charging process.
