foiled unshielded twisted pair (F/UTP)

According to the ISO/ IEC nomenclature ISO/IEC-11801 (2002) for TP cables, Foiled Unshielded Twisted Pair (F/ UTP) stands for the former FTP cable. Since it was not clear from the designation Foiled Twisted Pair (FTP) whether the individual pairs of wires had a foil shield, or whether there was only one overall foil shield for all pairs of wires, the designation FTP cable was replaced by F/UTP cable.
