flame retardant non corrosive (wiring) (FRNC)

The halogen-free, flame retardant material FRNC (Flame Retardant Non Corrosive) is used for the cable sheath of indoor cables.

FRNC cables have a low fire load and smoke emission. Corresponding cables are specified by the IEC and VDE, they carry the designation "H" and have an extended temperature range, from -50 °C to +180 °C, they also have a higher short-circuit resistance. They are specified in the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards under IEC 60332 and IEC 60754.

FRNC cables are not oil or chemical resistant, water absorption is high and abrasion resistance is relatively low. FRNC cables are used in power plants, machinery and equipment, but also in cabling systems and audio technology.
