Fixed Mobile Substitution(FMS) is a technique related to Fixed Mobile Convergence(FMC) and Mobile to Mobile Convergence( MMC).

Fixed Mobile Substitution involves a substitution from fixed to mobile services. Cell phones and smartphones are used to handle telecommunications services that were previously handled by fixed- line phones. FMC concepts are offered by mobile network operators for the residential sector and are handled via femtocells.
