fixed mobile integration (FMC) (FMI)

Fixed Mobile Integration (FMI) stands for the convergence offixed and mobile network telecommunications services.

FMI can be physically integrated as a function of network convergence, Fixed Mobile Convergence( FMC), of fixed and mobile networks by using the same exchanges and transmission links in the core network and the switching functions in the access network. The aim is to combine the performance features of the various telecommunications services in a cross- platform service.

This includes, for example, the availability of a subscriber in the fixed and mobile networks under a single telephone number. Fixed Mobile Integration ensures the convergence of fixed-network and mobile services. This involves access provided by different providers for the fixed network and the mobile network, as well as accounting for the services provided by different providers.
