fixed external priorities (CPU) (FEP)

Fixed External Priorities(FEP) is a prioritization method used by the operating system to allocate resources to processes.

With Fixed External Priorities, processor power is allocated to the processes according to priorities. Processes with low priorities have correspondingly long waiting times. Other methods for allocating processor power include First Come First Served( FCFS), Shortest Job First( SJF), Round Robin( RR) and Earliest Deadline First ( EDF).
