Firmware over the Air (FOTA) is a radio transmission technology with which the system software for a mobile device or for an electronic control unit( ECU) of a motor vehicle can be uploaded or updated by radio technology. This means that the system software can always be kept up to date. The import is carried out in such a way that it is not noticed by the user or vehicle owner.
