file exchange protocol (FXP)

The File Exchange Protocol (FXP) is a file transfer protocol that supports file transfer between servers, i.e. a server-to-server protocol.

Unlike the File Transfer Protocol( FTP), which supports file transfer between client and server. The advantage of the FXP protocol is that file transfers between server and server can be faster than if the transfer is first from the server to the client and then back to the server. In addition, the bandwidth between the servers is high, whereas the download bandwidth to the client over the local networks is limited.
