fiber to the node (FTTN)

Fiber to the Node (FTTN) or Fiber to the Neighborhood (FTTN) is one of numerous fiber optic connection technologies in which the fiber is routed from the local exchange to a distribution box, which can be several kilometers away from the customer location. From this distribution box, the last mile is supplied with DSL technologies via copper twisted pairs. FTTN technology can supply hundreds of households with high data rates.
