The feed point is the point in a public electricity grid where electricity
is fed in or taken out. At the feed point, the responsibility changes from the producer of the solar electricity to the electricity grid operator. In the case of solar electricity, the solar electricity producer must install and operate the power cables and equipment such as the feed-in meter up to this point, after which responsibility passes to the distribution network operator (DSO) of the low-voltage grid.
In the case of photovoltaic systems with a peak output of less than 30 kWp, the feed-in point is usually the house connection.
For a feed-in power of more than 30 kW nominal power, the solar power producer must obtain a feed-in commitment from the electricity grid operator.
