feature manipulation engine (FME)

The Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) is a platform used to translate spatial data from geometric and digital file formats.

Corresponding FME engines are used in geographic information systems (GIS), in CAD systems and software for raster graphics.

FME is suitable for interactive graphical applications such as cartography and enables spatial extraction and data transformation of geodata into other file formats, data models and repositories. Furthermore, coordinate systems can be converted, the data distributed to different users and transferred to websites.
