fax switch

A fax switch is a passive or active component that forwards incoming calls to the telephone, answering machine or fax machine via an a/b interface.

The fax switch is connected behind the telecommunications access unit(TAE) and switches the incoming signal to the fax machine or telephone on the basis of the connection tone( CNG). The connection tone with which the fax switch switches to the fax machine is a recognition tone of 1,100 Hz with a duration of 0.5 s and a pause time of 3 s, which is transmitted at the beginning of a fax transmission.
