fault ride-through (FRT)

FaultRide-Through (FRT) refers to the ability of an electrical device to respond to momentary effects from the power grid.

If momentary voltage changes occur on a power system, then a system that has fault ride-through can bypass them for a short period of time and then return to normal operation. Fault ride-through is specified in the power system regulations.
