fast ACCH (FACCH)

Associated Control Channels (ACCH) are channels for the transmission of signalling and control data in GSM networks. A distinction is made between slow ACCHs, i.e. the Slow Associated Control Channel (SACCH) with 50 bit/s, and the fast Fast ACCH (FACCH) with 333 bit/s. The FACCH can be assigned for time-critical signaling. The FACCH can be assigned for time-critical signaling. With the FACCH, the block error rate is considerably better than with the slower ACCH versions.
