fabric loop port (FL_Port)

A port a logical device interface with the associated protocol. With Fibre Channel( FC), the FC ports have a special designation that expresses the functionality and is identified by an underscore.

In an FC switch, an FL_Port supports FC-AL and is connected to one or more NL ports via the Fibre Channel Arbitrated Loop. The FL_Port forms a shared entry point for public NL_Ports connected to the Fibre Channel fabric.FL_Ports are intermediate ports in a virtual point-to-point link between end ports that do not reside in the same loop.
