xD PictureCards are small memory cards with dimensions of 22 mm x 25 mm, with a thickness of 1.7 mm.
The xD cards developed by Fujifilm and Olympus are used especially in digital cameras, MP3 players and camcorders. xD PictureCards are available with a storage capacity of 500 Megabyte (MB) and in the M version with 2 Gigabyte
(GB). The data throughput differs between the different card versions for write and read. The read throughput is between 5 MB/s and 15 MB/s depending on the xD card. The supply voltage is 3.3 V.
The xD PictureCard has a serial interface with 18 connection contacts and can be plugged into a PC card adapter, a Compact Flash adapter or connected to the USB interface
