error recovery (ER)

Error Recovery(ER) generally stands for the repetition of an operation after the occurrence of an error.

The repetition process can refer to the retransmission of data packets, the re-reading of a bar code or the invocation of a program.

Error recovery is also used in compression techniques such as adaptive delta pulse code modulation( ADPCM).
