erasable programmable logic device (logic) (EPLD)

Erasable Programmable Logic Devices (EPLD) are erasable, programmable memory chips, comparable to an Erasable PROM( EPROM). They can be programmed by the user and erased and reprogrammed again via the window located on the top of the chip using UV light. EPLDs have been around since the 1980s, and have no pre-assembled connections. These are made electrically by the user.
