equivalent noise input (ENI)

The

Equivalent Noise

Input

(ENI) is a characteristic value of low-noise amplifiers and preamplifiers

that

takes into account the inherent noise of

the amplifier. The Equivalent Noise Input is composed of the noise bandwidth of the amplifier and the inherent noise and is specified in dBm. The equivalent input noise is calculated from the logarithm (10log) of the noise bandwidth, specified in Hertz, plus the inherent noise, specified in decibels (dB).
