epoch date

The Epoch Date is a point in time from which time is measured in TCP/ IP systems. The start of the era for TCP/IP is January 1, 1900, 00:00, 0 seconds ofUniversal Time(UT), formerly Greenwich Mean Time( GMT). Whenever date and/or time must be specified in the TCP/IP world, it is always the number of seconds since that epochal date.
