enterprise architecture management (EAM)

Enterprise Architecture Management(EAM) has emerged from IT strategies that view the corporate business and information technology as a whole in terms of an enterprise architecture.

The many company-specific applications and their interaction form a complex structure that can only be disentangled and controlled by appropriate programs. This is where Enterprise Architecture Management comes in.

Enterprise Architecture Management can be characterized by the interdepartmental tasks from project planning and product planning, service and applications. These tasks include the management of the application landscape, which is referred to as landscape management, project management with project applications and the assignment of projects to specific applications and business processes, synchronization between individual processes, the adaptation of target projections to the organization, the management of business objects and services, and infrastructure management, which deals with the management of infrastructure components such as databases and hardware systems.
