enhanced time division multiple access (E-TDMA)

Enhanced Time Division Multiple Access (E-TDMA) is an improved TDMA method that is characterized by the fact that it detects pauses in the speech transmission and uses them for the transmission. The pause detection is performed using Digital Speech Interpolation( DSI). The E-TDMA process is used to increase transmission capacity in the Advanced Mobile Phone System( AMPS).
