enhanced graphics adapter (EGA)
The EGA card is one of the first graphics variants for simple applications with low resolution.
With 640 x 200 (350) pixel resolution and 4 bitcolor depth, with which 16 colors out of 64 colors can be displayed, and a screen memory of 64 KB, the EGA card belongs to the simplest versions of a graphics card, which at the time of development in 1984 were still characterized by high costs for memory space.
EGA uses a 9- pin Sub-D connector as PC interface, whereby the DB socket is used on the computer side.
