energy harvester

Energy harvesters are self-sufficient energy sources that convert the smallest physical quantities such as temperature differences, magnetic field changes, vibrations or light into electrical energy and can be used instead of batteries.

Micro Energy Harvesting( MEH) deals with the conversion of small amounts of energy as generated by photocells, magnetic field sensors and thermogenerators. Energy harvesters can be used in battery-free wireless technology to power wireless sensors located in remote or hard-to-reach locations.

Energy harvesting

The voltages generated by micro energy harvesters are in the millivolt range and, before they can be used to power electronic circuits, must be converted to a higher voltage and, if possible, stored. For this purpose, there areDC/DCconverters that are based on self- resonance and generate output voltages of several volts from input voltages of a few millivolts. In order to ensure the supply even if the energy harvesting does not deliver any energy, corresponding DC/DC converters have charging capacitors in which the energy is stored.
