endpoint protection

Endpoint protection, or endpoint security, is a concept that protects networks from external threats and attacks carried out through endpoints. The attack routes are through the clients connected to the endpoints, the tablet PCs, laptops and smartphones.

End-device protection is designed to fend off attacks and ensures the security of the end devices. This applies equally to targeted external attacks, persistent threats, Advanced Persistent Threats( APT), and unintentional human errors causing data leaks. Endpoint protection ensures the security of networks with their central components such as servers, workstations and other network components connected to endpoints. Endpoint protection relies on static and dynamic methods to detect and eliminate attacks and other threat scenarios.

Endpoint Security relies on an Endpoint Protection Platform( EPP) with integrated security components: Firewalls, Virus Scanners, Anti-Spyware and Intrusion Prevention Systems( IPS). These techniques can be complemented by vulnerability assessments and vulnerability management.
