end of frame sequence (EFS)

End of Frame Sequence (EFS) refers to the two data fields Ending Delimiter (ED) and Frame Status (FS) that terminate the FDDI token. The End Delimiter, Ending Delimiter, consists of a symbol and identifies the token or frame end. It indicates whether it is the first or the nth packet of a data sequence. The status field, Frame Status (FS), comprises three bytes and is used for error detection, destination address detection or frame copy detection.
