embedded PCI-X (ePCI-X)

The embedded solution specified by the PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group( PICMG) (PICMG standard 1.2) supports the simultaneous use of the PCI bus and PCI-X in embedded systems.

Two board sizes have been defined for this solution: A half-size single-bus board with one PCI or PCI-X bus and the full-size board with two PCI or PCI-X buses. With the larger version, embedded systems with eight slots are possible. ePCI-X aims at a pure PCI solution without ISA bus and thus meets the demand for higher I/O bandwidth.

ePCI-X has a data bus width of 64 bits and a clock frequency of 133 MHz.
